Three generations of twisted-in-wire brushes

Borstels Hochepied has been specialising in the production of twisted-in-wire brushes for more than 60 years.

1944
Brush maker Omer Hochepied, together with his wife Maria De Waele, founds his own company.

1958
Their son, Erik, starts working in the company that now specialises in the production of twisted-in-wire brushes. An increase in sales leads to a move from the first factory building to more spacious premises on the Baronstraat.

1961
The youngest son Patrik joins the company. After the premature death of Omer in 1964 he takes over the daily management together with Maria and Erik.

1982
Maria dies. Erik and Patrik set up the Hochepied bvba trading company.

1990
Erik stops working for health reasons. Patrik and his wife Christine Lootens are now responsible for running the company.

1991
The company builds an extension due to a dire lack of storage and production space.

1992
The company purchases its first CNC-driven wire brush machine. In the next few years, Borstels Hochepied goes through a period of explosive growth.

2004
60 years after the creation of the company Christophe Hochepied takes over from his father Patrik. He invests in production and product innovation and builds a new office and warehouse on the Kouterweg.

2009
The complete range of brushes is updated. The company launches the Bhobo house brand.
